My name is Melanie Child and I am the MOPS coordinator at Victory Church. I have truly enjoyed being a part of a MOPS group, having the support of other women who are going through the same things I am, even though we are from various backgrounds and have differing personalities. The tie that binds us is that we are all mothers and we all struggle. Mothering can be a difficult, but nothing is more challenging or more rewarding, and being a part of a group that is supportive, open and relational makes it a little easier. Every session is unique. Videos where other moms share their experiences, guest speakers, such as a violence counselor, creative activities such as a dance lesson. On top of that, we get to be child free for those two hours as the children have their own program, MOPPETS, where they enjoy themselves and learn valuable lessons. That is what MOPS is all about. And that is what we hope our MOPS group can be to other women.
